Swanna Go To The Derby?

Are you ready to hear about one of the most exciting events of the year? That's right, I'm talking about the 2023 Swan Derby! This event took place on a beautiful Friday night around Lake Mirror, and it was all for a good cause. All the proceeds from the event went to benefit LVIM (Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine). It's a great feeling to know that while having fun, we're also making a positive impact on our community.

LVIM is a volunteer-run health care center that provides free high-quality medical care to the working uninsured of Polk County. In the last 20 years, LVIM has seen 33,477+ patients, provided 577,631+ patient services, filled 483,780+ prescriptions, and all of this was possible because of the help of the 6,000+ volunteers and 590+ doctors, dentists, and ARNP's who gave their time.

The Swan Derby was a hit! There was live music, food trucks, and of course, the races. Participants dressed up in the most fabulous outfits. Some dressed up in their best swan attire, while others donned fancy derby hats. It was a sight to behold. The races themselves were intense! There were two dashes and one final race that went all the way around the lake. The teams paddled furiously in their swan boats while the crowd cheered them on. The competition was fierce, but it was all in good fun.

Now, the moment we've all been waiting for, the winner of the 2023 Swan Derby! And the award goes to...drum roll, please...CPS Investment Advisors with their boat "Swanna Retire"! They collected a whopping $22,970 in donations. Congratulations to the winners, and well done to all the participants for raising money for a great cause.

The night ended with a spectacular fireworks display. It was a fitting end to an exciting and successful event. As we left the event, we couldn't help but feel proud of our community and the good we can do when we come together. We can't wait for the next Swan Derby, but until then, we'll cherish the memories of this unforgettable night.
